Processing
One of the issues with data is that, in many cases, it is easier to collect than to process. Some types of data are collected with specialized sensors. For example, thermal sensors collect temperature data. Multispectral sensors collect non-visible wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation values that can be used to determine vegetative health. If these datasets are not processed properly, they are useless.

Another issue is that these datasets usually result in very large files. Without proper processing tools and computer processing power, they become impossible to work with.
